Jim Bodenheimer’s Allies vs. Bob Jamelli’s Axis (Allied bid of 1.5). The Allies won in 8 turns with a POC of 8 before bid. Turn 1 Axis attempted to control the North Sea but the dice gave it to the Allies (POC Allies 1). Turn 2 Axis sent the Italian cruisers to seize the South Atlantic with UBoats in support. Scrappy little Eagle held them off (POC Allies 1). Turn 3 Axis went after the South Atlantic again with the cruisers and subs while going for the North Sea as well. Neither attempt was successful (Allied POC 1). Turn 3 saw another South Atlantic push with the few remaining cruisers and a strong UBoat presence but again unsuccessful (POC Allies 4). Turn 5 was a repeat of turn 4 (POC Allies 7). Turn 6 the Axis was successful in controlling the Barents (POC Allies 5). Turn 7 the Axis attempted the South again with the one remaining cruiser supported by UBoats while also going for the North Atlantic. Both attempts failed (POC Allied 8). Turn 8 was the Axis desperation deployment with UBoats trying to block control of the North and South Atlantic while the German fleet went for the Barents. ASW eliminated the entire UBoat threat which sealed the game and Bob resigned. ASW was very ineffective throughout the game until turn 8. Allied gunnery was about average but very consistent while Axis gunnery had some critical misses.

Commenting on my game VS Lee K. I will make 4 statements about the game results.
- Game turns 3-8, 59 ASW rolls, 7 subs sunk.
- Game turns 1-8, 24 LBA shots VS Italian ships, none hit.
- Total axis losses for the game, the 7 subs, Graf Spee, Lutzow, Adm Hipper, Prinz Eugen.
- Nuff said…

Lee Kendter (axis) vs James Kramer (allies, 1.5 bid) is over with axis having 7 PoC before bid.
This was a weird game for dice. All 4 Italian cruisers survived to the end despite multiple LBA attacks. I only sunk 1 CV, but there were 4 on the map with 1 point of damage.
I did the classic convoy offset with taking a 3-point sea zone to offset the first 2 convoys landing.
While I won with a decent PoC lead, the early game felt tight. I didn’t expect to win this strong.

Tim Tow (Axis +1.5) and I finished our match. Ultimately the Allies prevailed after 8 turns with a +7 (+5.5 after the bid). The Allies air, both LBA and various CV’s had extreme results which kept the Axis off balance the entire game, starting on T1.
