Tom Brawn (Axis) defeated Daniel Blumentritt (Allies). Bid was 1.5 for the Allies. He got some good attrition on my fleet including 2×456 and 2×553. I never did sink the big boys but I got rid of 5 of his 6 cruisers so his navy was very top heavy. The real key was when his uboats and IT cruisers got a surprise defeat of the RN in South Atlantic on Turn 6. On the same turn in North Atlantic a 50/50 battle came down to Convoy 3C vs Prinz Eugen – the Convoy sunk the Eugen and the Eugen disabled the Convoy to leave the area totally empty!
He never sunk a convoy but he got 3 or 4 disables on them, so only 2B made it to Russia. 3C made it to England and 1A was still stuck in the US due to the backlog!
On the final turn I needed to pick up 2 POC to win, which meant controlling all of the big 4 areas and getting the convoy through. I was a heavy favorite to beat his fleet but first I had to knock out 6 uboats with 11 shots, only a 10 to 12 percent chance, and I didn’t get it, so he locked up the minimum 0.5 POC win.

In the 115-14 game Tim (-1.5 Allies) triumphed over Bob (Axis).
The Axis challenged the North Sea on turn 1 and were turned away. The Allies slowly kept the blockade up until 17 ASW failed to sink or disable a single German U-boat in the Barents. Despite that the Allies were able to heavily attrit the German fleet leaving only the Bismarck and Tirpitz on turn 8 when the Axis conceded with the score +10 Allies adjusted to 8.5 after the bid.

This game was looking bad for the allies until good die rolls on T8 delivered the game to myself. The T7-T8 move to the MED was necessary as Dwayne was able to keep the game score frozen mid-game. I do think Dwayne would have been better served throwing everything into stopping convoy 3C on T8. At least he might have let his LBA have a shot at it in the Barents. A big ”WHEW!” from me on managing to pull this game out. Sorry Dwayne.

Ken Pascoe (Allies, bid 1.0 POC) conceded to Rob Drozd after Turn 7. Although all 3 convoys reached Russia, Axis was able to offset their POC by holding North Sea on Turn 5 and SATL on Turns 6 and 7. Allies had only 1 CV remaining after turn 7. final POC was Axis 6 (7 after bid adjustment).
